La Familia is recognized as a community wellness hub in the South Sacramento area. La Familia works with Sierra Health Foundation and Sacramento County to provide holistic community needs, support services and resources for the community.
La Familia serves as a hosting site to many local nursing schools and health organizations. We offer student internship opportunities to promote community health and highlight the importance of cultural competence. We also provide vital on-site health services to bridge the gap of health disparities within the community. These services include dental care, medical health screenings such as asthma & autism screenings, physical examinations, and more through various partners.

Juntos Afuera – Is an outdoor equity program that helps individuals, youth, and families connect with nature and enjoy the benefits of the outdoors through hands on activities and explorations. By offering inclusive opportunities to engage with the environment, the program ensures that all community members, including those who may face barriers, can access and experience outdoor spaces. Participants cultivate curiosity, appreciation, and a deeper understanding of ecosystems and environmental challenges, while promoting environmental stewardship and building lasting connections with nature and one another. This program is funded by the Outdoor Equity Grants Program, created through AB 209 and administered by California State Parks, Office of Grants and Local Services.

FUEL Network 29 – The FUEL Network stands for Family, Unity, Education, and Legal Network. The network, which we are a part of, is composed of non-profits, religious organizations, law school immigration clinics, businesses, local pro bono attorneys, educators, and other community partners dedicated to helping Sacramento residents prevent, prepare, and defend themselves against deportation.
